01.11.2015 Der 1944 in Jerusalem geborene palästinensische Zeichner, Karikaturist und Cartoonist Baha Boukhari (Bild) ist am 29. Oktober 2015 in Ramallah gestorben. Boukhari war eines der 12 Gründungsmitglieder von Cartooning For Peace. Er hat auch am viel beachteten Film "Caricaturistes, Fantassins de la démocratie" (2014) mitgewirkt.

We have just heard with deep sadness that the great Palestinian press cartoonist Baha Boukhari passed away. He was Plantu and Cartooning For Peace's long-time friend and he supported Cartooning For Peace from the start in October 2006 at the United Nations Headquarters with Plantu and Kofi Annan. Baha Boukhari was an incredible artist and a strong supporter of peace in the Middle East and freedom of expression. We will deeply miss him.

L'association loi 1901 Cartooning For Peace, qui lutte pour une meilleure compréhension entre les peuples à l'aide du dessin de presse, annonce le décès du dessinateur de presse palestinien Baha Boukhari, à l'âge de 71 ans. L'homme faisait partie des 12 dessinateurs à l'origine de la création de l'association, et était salué comme un des grands du dessin de presse.
CRNI's 2008 Award for Courage in Editorial Cartooning was given to Palestinian cartoonist Baha' Boukhari.
Baha' Boukhari was threatened and his newspaper shut down by the Hamas movement for a cartoon that criticized the party's governing style. Hamas even tried to label him anti-Islamic. He didn't back down. Hamas backed down after the local community literally rallied for Baha and the free speech rights of every Palestinian.

Boukhari was a founding member of Cartooning For Peace in 2006. He was one of the cartoonists profiled in the 2014 documentary Cartoonists: Footsoldiers For Democracy.

Le célèbre caricaturiste palestinien, Baha Boukhari, est décédé à l'âge de 71 ans, jeudi soir dans un hôpital à Ramallah, des suites d'une longue maladie.
Né en 1944, Baha Boukhari est dessinateur de presse depuis 1964. Le défunt à travailler entre 1964 et 1988 dans la presse koweïtienne, puis de 1994 à 1999 au journal Al Qods. Depuis 1999 le défunt a commencé une autre aventure avec le journal Al-Ayyam à Ramallah. Baha Boukhari a participé à de nombreux débats à Jérusalem et a connu plusieurs problèmes avec le Hamas suite à ses dessins. Depuis Ramallah, le caricaturiste continue à partager, à travers ses dessins, sa vision du conflit israélo-palestinien et, au-delà, de ce qu'il qualifie de "triste réalité de l'occupation". Un point de vue forcément partiel - et partial - qui accuse, notamment, les médias occidentaux d'un biais pro-israélien.
