11.05.2018 Der am 20. November 1981 in Selkirk geborene schottische Sänger, Songwriter, Gitarrist und bildende Künstler Scott Hutchison (Bild) ist am 9. oder 10. Mai 2018 bei South Queensferry (Schottland) gestorben.

There are no words to describe the overwhelming sadness and pain that comes with the death of our beloved Scott, but to know he is no longer suffering brings us some comfort. Reading messages of support and hope from those he has helped through his art has helped immensely and we encourage you all to continue doing this. He will be missed by all of us and his absence will always be felt but he leaves a legacy of hope, kindness and colour that will forever be remembered and shared.

Frightened Rabbit's Scott Hutchison Dead at 36

On "Floating in the Forth," a song on Frightened Rabbit's 2008 album The Midnight Organ Fight, Hutchison sang about imagining dying in Scotland's River Forth. It included the lyrics, "Am I ready to leap? / Is there peace beneath / The roar of the Forth Road Bridge?" and "I think I'll save suicide for another year." Hutchison's body was found last night on the banks of the River Forth, near the Forth Road Bridge, according to the BBC.

Hutchison formed Frightened Rabbit in 2003. The Scottish indie-rock group recorded five studio albums, most recently 2016's Painting of a Panic Attack. The Hutchison brothers released Dance Music from their side project Mastersystem in April. Frightened Rabbit also recently completed a tour to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the band's 2008 album The Midnight Organ Fight.

Hutchison had addressed mental health difficulties in his songwriting. In an interview published on Noisey last week, he described his mood: "Middling. On a day-to-day basis, I'm a solid six out of 10. I don't know how often I can hope for much more than that. I'm drawn to negatives in life, and I dwell on them, and they consume me."

Seit Mittwoch wurde der Lead-Sänger der Band Frightened Rabbit vermisst

Scott Hutchison gründete mit seinem Bruder Grant 2004 die Band Frightened Rabbit, die 2006 ihr Debütalbum "Sing the Greys" veröffentlichte und weitere vier Alben, zuletzt "Painting of a Panic Attack" (2016). Hutchinson brachte 2014 ein Solo-Album als Owl John heraus und war ebenfalls Teil des Kollektivs Fruit Tree Foundation.
